Sarah Owen
& Christine Vanneck
Sarah’s passion for horses began early, nurtured through lessons with Helen Varble at Wellington Show Stables in Florida. With support from her mother Christine—founder of Muny Sunk Stables—she trained with respected professionals including Judy and Gary Young, Sergio Campos, the Pack family, and Holli Adams, competing from pony divisions to Grand Prix across major East Coast circuits.
Christine comes from a family rooted in the horse industry and gained early experience through her backyard ponies, and from an invaluable internship at Blue Chip Farm where she learned the workings of the Standardbred breeding and racing program her father partnered in. As Sarah’s riding career grew, Christine and Sarah relocated from South Florida to the beautiful mountains of North Carolina, fulfilling Christine’s life-long dream of owning a horse farm. Though mostly retired, Christine still enjoys mowing and remains a valued presence on the farm.
The
vision
Shifting focus from competition to equine genetics and reproduction, years of dedicated research, education, and practical application developed into a growing knowledge of important show jumping families and modern reproduction techniques. Combining these breeding expertise with valuable insights from competitive experience, our breeding approach has been fine-tuned to reflect the traits modern riders demand most. We strives to balance the reliability of proven performance lines with genetic diversity, largely focusing on longevity and optimizing the unique strengths and weaknesses of each horse.
