1996 KWPN Mare
From Dutch Mare Line 65
Chunky lives up to her name with her stout, but small build. She was bred by Stal Luesink and with their carefully selected lineage backing more than five generations, they produced a beautifully talented mare. Amongst being a producer of correct, modern-type sport horses, she has competed successfully in the jumper ring here in the States. Unfortunately, her show career was halted short by an injury and retired early to be a broodmare. Habsburg, who is by the famous stallion, Burggraaf, has proven himself to be a producer of many competitive show jumpers.
On the dam side, Candyboy, by the great Lucky Boy xx, is known for his influence in many marelines passing on his sire's ability to produce top show jumping and dressage horses. Chunky has already produced a superb AHHA fill by Cassini II in 2010. The filly was awarded champion on her first two outings in the 2 year old hunter breeding division. It is our greatest pleasure to have such a wonderful and well bred mare as a part of our breeding program.
Burggraaf combines two of the most successful Holstein jumping lines: Landgraf and Cor de la Bryère. On his maternal side he goes back to the famous Holstein lineage 7126, a family which has produced the approved stallions: Acord I & II, Acrobat I, II, III, Arico, Fra Diavolo, Chicago &
Freeman. Burggraaf’s most successful jumping progeny have included Leslie Howard’s S’Blieft, Roelof Bril’s Burggravin, Peter Wylde’s Kuno, Piet Raymakers’ Now or Never, Thomas Frühmann’s Procobs Dumbo and John Whitaker’s Peppermill. Licensed sons include: Graaf, Habsburg, Kroongraaf, Manhattan, Mermus R, Murano, Budweiser and Orion Fortuna. Burggraaf seems to pass on his size, power and jumping ability and has produced a many many top class broodmares.
Lucky Boy contributed to Dutch sport horse breeding by contributing a string of top jumpers to the international scene. Sire of Calypso who finished second in the 1980 World Cup final and then followed that up two years later
with a victory in the 1982 final in Göteborg. Lucky Boy sired 16 stallion sons. He sired many international horses like: Willi Melliger’s Van Gogh, Hugo Simon's The Freak, and later Anne Kursinski’s Medrano – all three of them were in Los Angeles for the 1984 Olympic Games. Lucky Boy is also proving a valuable broodmare sire. Beezie Maddan’s current star, Authentic is by Guidam but out of a grand-daughter of Lucky Boy. Rolf-Goran Bengtssen‘s Mac Kinley is out of a great grand-daughter of Lucky Boy. Katharina Offel’s top horse, Nike, is by Indoctro out of a daughter of Octrooi.
Amor was a Gelderlander stallion, imported 3 years old from Holstein by the Sgldt. He was awarded with the certificate for agricultural riding horse and he became preferent because his good breeding results in the Gelderlander breed. He is the father of the Gelderlander preferent stallion Epigoon, of the Gelderlander keur stallions
Eros and Gondelier, of the Groninger stallion Akteur and of many other stallions. Since founding KWPN (and closing Sgldt and NWP studbooks) the first 10 years only one son was approved and Amor was sold for very, very little money because he was not good enough for the modern KWPN-horse breeding. Then became evident that children and especially grandchildren of Amor were very good sporthorses (dressage, show jumping, driving) and many sons were approved again.
Dolman was a KWPN stallion from the Holsteiner stamm 2151 by Nautilus xx out of the Holsteiner mare, Rubine. He was very influential in the Dutch mare lines, especially with the dam Iregina, Heriette's dam. Produced by Iregina were two KWPN licensed stallions by the Thoroughbred stallion,
Pericles. Three more preferent mares were produced by the same pairing. Gelding Comex, was an international show jumper under William Funnell by the French stallion Le Mexico. Another mare, Kroongravin, produced the KWPN licensed stallion, Profeet, by Liberto. Dolman was certainly a broodmare sire to recon with.

A bright future for a handsome new colt.
Born 3:40 on 4/15/12, we were astonished to see the size of the colt Chunky had produced. It was decided that the foal was a filly, but later discovered upon further investigation that we had a colt! It was obvious that even just minutes old, that his conformation was extremely correct. MS Cassini Boy took the best from both, with his straight legs, arched neck and stunning head. He will really be a head turner. We expect him to not only have the scope for the jumper ring but also the movement and mindset to go far in the hunter ring as well. See more »
Goodbye to Cassini II - the end of an era.
We are sad to learn that Cassini II was humanely euthanized due to a pasture injury. Cassini II was truly superior breeding sire, even known for producing better than his full brother Cassini I. It's an end to a great era of talented show jumping horses, and his legacy will remain with those that he passed on his incredible talent to. Cassini II is the sire of our 2012 foal out of Offspring. It is a huge loss to the show jumping industry, such a spectacular stallion will be greatly missed. Read more »
