Darco was one of the most successful show jumping horses ever and was also one of the top breeding sires worldwide for jumping horses. His list of achievements as a jumping stallion is testimony to his dream-like career and that of his rider Ludo Philippaerts, who credits Darco for getting

him into the international show jumping circuit. Darco, who was described by his rider as an extremely honest and intelligent horse, was never known to produce offspring that fell short of excellence and was always on top of the list for breeders from all over the world. Mares produced by him are highly coveted as brood mares and often sell for astronomical prices, while many of his male offspring have gone on to become highly successful themselves: Parco (Darco x Attack Z) was 9th on the World Ranking List in 2001, while King Darco competed at the Atlanta Olympics with Philippaerts. Sapphire (Darco x Hedjaz) is probably the most successful show jumper in the world coming home with the Team Gold in the 2008 Olympics as well as capturing many prestigous Grand Prixs all over the world, namely the Pfizer Million at Saugerties in 2010

Praefectus xx was an absolute tuner with the highest performance capabilities and is in the earnings of his offspring by far at the top by all living stallions registered in Hesse. With the refining blood of one of the influential Thoroughbreds to come to Oldenburg, Praefectus stood at

the Vorwerk Stud from 1971 until 1975 who indeed had an impaction on Oldenburg breeding. He is the sire of the Hanoverian stallion, Pinkus, who won the 100 day test with a jumping score of 131.07 and the dam-sire of the Olympic gold medalist Bonfire, winner of the individual gold for dressage in Sydney 2000.

Masetto produced one approved son, and 50 approved daughters before he was gelded in 1984. Masetto was from the line established by the Thoroughbred stallion, Manometer. When he went to stud there were great hopes for Manometer as he was by Abendfrieden, a full brother to

the very successful Thoroughbred sire, Anblick. Romedio,Graf von Thun-Hohenstein, had this to say about Manometer in his work, The Holsteiner Horse: “Even though he was not perfect in the set of his shoulder and withers, he improved upon this, without exception, in all his get. Manometer also passed on the great jumping ability which is so characteristic of this line. At the very least, his influence in no way diminished the Holsteiner’s natural talent for jumping. His undisputed strong point was his production of performance horses. He is perhaps best known as the dam sire of the show jumping stallion Clinton who placed 4th in the 2004 Athens Olympics and is also coming into his prime as a sire of internationally successful jumping offspring and numerous approved stallion sons.  

Lugano Van La Roche has had a splendid breeding record. The Lugano son, La Ina, ridden by Peter Charles, won the European Championship in 1995. Flugel daughters crossed with Lugano proved the match of the era, generating world eminences such as Porche, Pluco, Pico and Egano which won

Olympic medals, top Grand Prix and championships. After his Flugel period, Lugano enthusiastically devoted himself to partners from the lineage of Holstein Cottage Son.Codex was a top class sport horse producer himself, and it can be no surprise that this combination produced phenomena such as Darco, or the super fast Isaura vd Helle. Also in his female offspring Lugano has done well, as demonstrated by his daughters producing, for example, Forester, Fidelgo, Goliath and Joli Fleur de Lys, all with good international sport reputations. Lugano van la Roche has been one of the pillars of Belgian breeding, bringing the rich legacy of Hanover with him.

Eliza is a powerfully talented mare who received the best qualities of her breeding. She shows incredible strength and scope and technique, all of which we passed down from her sire, Clinton, and her dam-sire, Darco as well as rideability. The same Clinton -Darco cross produced international show jumper, Upsilon Van Heffinck. We have high expectations for her as a show jumper and as a broodmare.

Corrado I who sired Clinton, was the best jumping stallion in Germany, winning several World Cup Qualifiers under Franke Sloothaak.  Urte, his dam, jumped up to national level, and here

mother Ohra had an international career under the name Olympia. He has many offspring winning at international levels such as Coral Reef Via Volo, Cornet Obolensky, Utrillo Z, and Upsilon Van De Heffinck. Dam-sire Darco is  onone of the most well known sires in the world, holding 5 consecutive years in a row on WBFSH  rankings. One of his most well known offspring is Olympic veteran, Sapphire, who has won millions in earnings since her career in show jumping started. Just a few others include Parco, Winningmood, and VDL Douglass.
